Working for Rimac Automobili showcases my abilities and scope of work. The role Creative Content Specialist is best explained as a person who is in charge for producing the required content for the company. This includes content for Social Media, Websites, Print, Business Presentations and trait shows.
While I did smaller projects myself within the company, the scope of work often required me to work with outside production companies that I needed to manage to produce the desired content. The general process started with getting input from marketing or other departments what they need. After planning what resources we needed - I started to work with people who can help me get the project done.
Below are example of projects that I worked on with a short description on what was my contribution. These projects are finished and can be publicly showed. Some of the work was strictly for internal use, or some projects are long-term and the video is not going to be finished until few months or years later.
Factory Tour with Mate
This was one of the biggest and most time-consuming project. The idea was simple, Rimac Automobili shifts a part of its production to a different location, and we need to display how it looks like today. We originally planned a much shorter video, but when doing rehearsals with Mate, we noticed that this is going to be a four part series because the company offers so much variety, and we need to give each department enough time.
We worked with a production company in realizing the project because of the scope and complexity it required. I worked on the preproduction with planning and rehearsing the path, during the shoot I was overseeing the process and pulling focus for the A-cam. I provided some of the b-roll footage that I recorded over moths before and during the videos, and finally I checked the footage for inconsistencies before finalizing it.
It was also challenging to align with production and their schedules to get the required B-Roll material that we needed for the video - and in addition, we committed to publish one video each week.
Wind Tunnel Testing
First project that I worked on when I came to the company. Working on such engineering intensive projects requires a wide knowledge base of the car, the process of development and key people. It was challenging having this video as a first project, but I caught up with the relevant terminology and the processes, so we could produce this video. This was also created with the help of an external production company.
C_TWO Crash Test
This long-term project required us to keep track and film the development and testing of the passive safety of the car - or better known as Crash Testing the car. The car uses a Monocoque design that is quite different from what the industry uses - so the idea of the video was to show and explain how this affects the passenger in the car.
My job was to coordinate the shoots in the testing facility, talk to engineers to get understanding on what is important, film the interview and b-roll, shape the video so it is interesting, and yet covers all relevant technical information and work with an external production company to finalize the video.
C_TWO Photoshoot
Before Geneva International Motor Show 2019, I got the input that a new color scheme is going to be introduced, and we need to organize a photoshoot for press photos. We booked a photographer that specializes in car photography and together with him; we created the look and the scene of this shoot.
First challenge was to find a good location that would work together with the car to highlight its beauty. I found this hall and picked it because of the sunlight coming through the windows. The white paint has a blue reflection that is very hard to see in normal soft light, but when the sun hits it directly - this shows the true colors of the car.
For the video and help with the scene, we collaborated with a production company.
Rimac Merchandise - Hero Shots
Most challenging shoot for the Merchandise - we called them Hero shots. They should convey a feeling of the clothes, giving off a high tech feeling - yet showing the clothes themselves.
For this project, we hired an external photographer who specializes in fashion shoots. The process of mood boards briefs and debriefs, brainstorming, testing ideas and finally filming took few weeks. It was on me to organize the process and enable the photographer to get a clear vision what we need and make the execution the best as possible.
Rimac Merchandise - Product Shots
For the web shop, we needed to create product shots that display both the clothes and items that are being for sale in the shot.
Rimac Merchandise - Real People Campaign
Alongside the Hero shots and product shots - there needed to be a human element to the images. We decided to go with a campaign called “Real People” - where we take different people within the company and show them in their natural environment and how they wear Rimac clothes.
This combined my love for portrait photography and knowing people within the company so we could get interesting people for the shoot. Each person came with a short description or a tagline that best described him or her. The shoot was prepared alongside the Merchandise department and executed with an external production company.
Corporate Shots
Since Rimac Automobili is a car company - they have many departments that work together in creating the final product. Capturing the process was one of my main tasks, which means carefully monitoring what each department does on a daily basis and plan what is important to document and plan how to use the materials.
The company has Machining, Chassis Welding, Wiring, Paint shop, Carbon production, Battery Welding and Assembly, Testing Facility, Upholstering, Components Assembly and the final Car Assembly. Alongside the production, it also has R&D, Autonomous Driving, Software and Hardware engineers, Design, Vehicle Engineering, and Infotainment systems.
Going everyday among all of those departments, I got a very good idea how this company works, and have the confidence to create such corporate shots for any company out there.
Portraits
As I am first a portrait photographer, I am always looking forward to photographing people. While I needed to adhere to some standard form of what is expected of a corporate portrait - I really did my best in capturing the character of the person, and not only having serious portraits on a white background.
It was interesting working with all the various people in the company, but here is a small section of my favorites.
Behind the Scenes
Since I was always behind the camera, or doing something else - I never captured good behind the scenes images, and finding me on a picture is virtually impossible. Never the less, here is a small collection of shots taken during our production.
